Bernd Bocian – Researcher and Gestalt therapist, Genoa (Italy)

Bernd Bocian, Dr. phil. (PHD – TU Berlin) was born in 1954, lives in Genoa, Italy and Düsseldorf, Germany. He is a German psychotherapist (PtG) and Gestalt-therapist (DVG). He also trained in psychoanalytic therapy on Reichian body work and Character Analysis. He has worked as a psychotherapist, counsellor and educator in private practice, counselling offices (for
families, young people, victim-offender mediation) and associations for social education. From 1985 to 2000 he was a member of the editorial board of the German journal “Gestalttherapie” (DVG- German Association for Gestalt therapy). He is the author of various publications on the historical and contemporary relation between gestalt therapy and psychoanalysis (e.g. Bocian, B. / Staemmler, F. M.: Gestalttherapie und Psychoanalyse 2000). He wrote Fritz Perls in Berlin 1893 – 1933: Expressionism – Psychoanalysis – Judaism (2010 EHP). He edits a Section of the Italian Journal Quaderni di Gestalt (directed by M. Spagnuolo Lobb), titled “History and Identity: Texts and Thoughts from the background”.
